Ektimo Wines: True Appreciation for the Land

Ektimo Wines was founded upon the appreciation its owner Dominic Xie felt for the opportune California land on which it was built. Growing up in the aftermath of China’s Cultural Revolution, Xie moved to America’s West Coast to study at Stanford, and he later raised a family and pursued a career in government and business. However, he never forgot his upbringing in China’s wine country and felt the calling to start a winery of his own. In 2012, the family acquired an estate in California’s Russian River Valley, and they have been cultivating incredible wine ever since. Ektimo, from the Greek “εκτιμώ”, means to appreciate, and it is a very fitting name due to Xie’s genuine gratitude to the land.

To experience Ektimo Wines, you can either make a tasting reservation or order a bottle online. The tasting room is open Tuesday-Sunday from 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Reservations are suggested and can be made online. For distant wine enthusiasts, online ordering is available through the Ektimo shop. Additionally, the winery offers a great wine club program that includes several different package options.

Taste Route 116 highly recommends that you visit Ektimo Wines or you try a bottle from its online selection. There is such a unique history found within the business, and it is evident through its fantastic wines and beautiful estate. Xie truly has an appreciation for the land his winery sits upon, and countless others have found an appreciation for the wine it produces.
