In 2012, INIZI Wines was founded in Guerneville, California. Its name, INIZI, means “new beginnings” in Italian, and it was certainly relevant to the two families who embarked on this journey. The business has certainly proven to make a name for itself by focusing its efforts on cultivating unique yet delightful wines.
INIZI Wine’s roots can be traced back to when founders A.J. Filipelli and John Harley became friends at Fresno State University. In school, A.J. studied Viticulture (the farming of grapes) and John studied Enology (winemaking). Through their shared passion for wine, they quickly became life-long friends. Through this friendship and with the help of their wives, Jen Filipelli and Kirsti Harley, the INIZI business was created.

While INIZI Wines has established its roots in wine country, the founders believe that every new day is a new beginning. A new day is an opportunity to prepare the land and its fruit with the utmost care. After all, a bottle of wine begins in the vineyard.
