A delicious glass of wine requires intentness. From first selecting the fruit all the way through the bottling process, it takes great attention to detail and care to create a refreshing bottle of wine. This process all begins on the vineyards used to grow the fruit for the wines. Jigar Wines takes pride in their vineyards and locations. Their premium fruit allows for them to be set up for success.
For Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Jigar Wines grows and gathers grapes from Peters Vineyard. This vineyard is located seven miles inland from the Pacific Ocean and lays where the Russian River, Green Valley, and Sonoma Coast meet. This vineyard beautifully combines the sandy soil, southern sun exposure, and the foggy coast to create wines of intense flavor. The location also allows for great minerality and bright acidity.
Next, the Sonoma County Cabernet. For this wine, Jigar Wines turns to Glen Oaks Vineyard. The historic ranch of Glen Ellen is located next to this vineyard and dates back to 1862. The perfect combination of soil, aspect, and temperature grace this vineyard. This allows for beautifully structured Cabernets with great aromatics and the ability to age gracefully.
Lastly, for their Zinfandel, Adams Vineyard has proven to be an ideal location for Jigar Wines. This vineyard is located in the corner of Dry Creek Valley. The sloping, hillside vineyard benefits from cool nights and hot days adding intensity and depth to the fruit.
Taste Route 116 values the intentional selection of vineyards and determination that our winery partners craft into their delicious wines.
